Monks Security Systems was established in 1986 by Peter Monks and is a leading privately-owned company specialising in the installation and maintenance of fire and security systems, based in Leeds. Since its inception, the company has expanded significantly, earning NSI recognition in 1990 (formerly NSCIA and NACOSS) for intruder alarms and BAFE SP203 certification for fire alarm installations.
As industry standards have evolved, Monks Security Systems has maintained high quality through various accreditations, including BS5750, ISO9000, and currently, ISO9002 Quality Assurance. In October 2005, the company achieved NACOSS GOLD status for the installation and maintenance of CCTV, Access Control, and Integrated Systems—complementing its intruder alarm credentials. This recognition was further extended in 2016 to include BS8418 police-activated offsite monitored CCTV systems.
In 2013, Monks Security Systems obtained BAFE approval for fire alarm design, installation, verification, and maintenance through SSAIB. The company is renowned for its outstanding standards of workmanship and professionalism, both on-site and in administration.
