Assistance Systems for Disabled Persons

Sub Heading

Emergency Voice Communication Systems (EVCS) compliant with BS 5839
Our EVCS are versatile systems configured for use as Fire Telephone Systems, Disabled Refuge Systems, or integrated solutions combining both functionalities.

A Fire Telephone System typically serves multi-story buildings, enabling clear communication with firefighters during fire emergencies, especially when radio signals may be compromised by fire-induced interference. These systems usually employ Type A outstations with handheld telephones.

A Disabled Refuge System functions similarly but is designed for use by the public and emergency responders to assist disabled individuals. These systems generally utilise Type B outstations, featuring a call button to summon assistance and enabling hands-free intercom communication. They are primarily intended for emergency evacuations of multi-story buildings—during fires, lockdowns, chemical leaks, or security threats.

Combined Unit                   Type A                         Type B
Integrated Solutions:

Fire Telephones and Disabled Refuge Call Points can be combined into a single unit for a multi-purpose solution, providing flexibility and convenience.

While primarily used during emergencies, these systems may also serve non-emergency purposes, such as enabling security personnel to communicate their locations to fire control or security centres.

Emergency Assistance (Disabled WC) Alarms conforming to BS 8300:2009

These alarms are designed to enable disabled individuals to request help during emergencies. Commonly installed in accessible WC facilities, they can also be used in bedrooms, bathrooms, first aid rooms, therapy centres, changing areas, sheltered accommodations, and other settings where a disabled person might be alone and need assistance.

Aid is summoned by pulling a red cord equipped with tactile bangles at various heights. This action triggers a local alarm to reassure the user and a remote alert to notify staff. Once assistance is provided, a "presence" indicator may signal staff that help is on the way, and the system is reset after the incident is resolved.
These systems can be integrated with EVCS for a streamlined, user-friendly solution.

Audio Frequency Induction Loop Systems (AFILS) compliant with BS 7594:2011

We offer a wide selection of AFILS to support individuals who are hard of hearing, suitable for various environments. Options include portable loops for flexible, one-on-one use or fixed installations for meeting rooms, reception areas, conference halls, lecture theatres, and larger venues.

These systems operate by transmitting amplified sound directly to hearing aids, enhancing speech clarity and listening comfort.
